Trenton Thunder News Release
The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Friday that RHP Jose Ramirez has been activated from the team's disabled list. He is expected to make his Double-A debut Friday night as a reliever following starter Nik Turley. Additionally, outfielder Shane Brown has been transferred back to the team from the Staten Island roster.
To make room from Ramirez and Brown, infielder Kevin Mahoney was promoted to Triple-A Scranton and LHP Jeremy Bleich was placed on the disabled list retroactive to April 23rd with left knee soreness.
Ramirez, a 23-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, was rated as the Yankees' 16th-best minor league prospect by Baseball America entering the 2013 season. Last year he went 7-6 with a 3.21 ERA with the Tampa Yankees in 21 appearances (18 starts), striking out 94 batters in 99 innings of work.
