Rock Cats Beat Richmond 7-4 on Friday Night at NB Stadium

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats came from behind to beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 7-4 on Friday night at New Britain Stadium. The victory was the Rock Cats third in their last four games. The Rock Cats trailed 3-1 going to the 6th inning and rallied for three runs to take the lead. New Britain starting pitcher Logan Darnell earned his second win. C Josmil Pinto had three hits and drove in a run.

New Britain made it a one run game with a one out RBI single by Mark Sobolewski ending the night for Squirrels starter Ryan Bradley. Mark Minicozzi's throwing error allowed New Britain to tie the game and Dan Rohlfing's runs scoring single with 2-out scored Josmil Pinto to give the Rock Cats a 4-3 lead.

The Rock Cats added an insurance run in the 7th on a RBI single by Pinto to take a 5-3 lead. Richmond closed the gap with a run in the 8th off reliever Blake Martin before Martin came back to strike out Joe Panikwith the bases loaded. New Britain scored two more times in the 8th on a solo home run by Jonathan Goncalves and a single by Sobolewski.

The Rock Cats continue the homestand on Saturday night at New Britain Stadium. B.J. Hermsen will pitch against Craig Westcott.
