
RHP J.D. Martin (Hamstring) Placed on 7-Day Disabled List

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Rays announced three moves on Thursday including Biscuits RHP J.D. Martin being placed on the 7-day Disabled List, retroactive to July 25, with a hamstring injury.
Martin experienced the injury during his most recent start on Tuesday night against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in which the knuckleballer started, but was then pulled after just two innings of work.
The 35-year-old has made 19 starts and two relief appearances for the Biscuits this season and is 7-9 with a 4.37 ERA. Since the All-Star break, Martin is 3-1 with a 2.34 ERA in five starts and two relief appearances.
The Rays also announced that C Mac James has been promoted from the Biscuits to AAA Durham, and that RHP Spencer Jones has been promoted to the Biscuits from A+ Charlotte.
James, 25, played in 39 games for the Biscuits in 2018 and hit .208 with three doubles and 11 RBIs and heads to Triple-A for the first time in his career. Jones, 23, was 4-2 with a 2.31 ERA in 25 relief appearances for the Stone Crabs at the time of his first promotion to Double-A.
