RHP Alexi Ogando to Rehab With Round Rock Express

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Friday that RHP Alexi Ogando will begin his rehab assignment with the Triple-A Round Rock Express on Saturday against the Omaha Storm Chasers.

Ogando has made 10 starts with the Rangers this season, going 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA. The right-hander was placed on the 15-day DL on June 9, retroactive to June 6, with right shoulder inflammation. Ogando was previously on the DL from May 16 through June 4 with right biceps tendinitis but started on June 5 against the Red Sox, going 5.2 innings and allowing one earned run. In his last start with the Rangers in Boston, he threw 92 pitches, 55 for strikes.

The Express continues a four-game set against the Omaha Storm Chasers tonight at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Scott Richmond (2-2, 6.80 ERA) will take the ball for Round Rock while southpaw Danny Duffy (2-0, 5.66 ERA) is set to start for Omaha. After the game, Dell Diamond will light up the Central Texas sky with Budweiser Friday Fireworks, part of Red, White and Blue Weekend.
