Duane Below pitched six scoreless innings, and Kyle Skipworth drove in three runs as the New Orleans Zephyrs blanked the Oklahoma City RedHawks, 4-0 on Friday night.

Below (5-3) struck out six to win for the third time in his last four decisions. The left-hander surrendered a hit in five of his six innings, but held the RedHawks to 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Oklahoma City 's frustrations mounted in the seventh when they put runners at the corners with no outs. Jose Martinez greeted reliever Jonathan Albaladejo with a double down the left field line, and Carlos Perez ripped a one-hopper off the third base bag for an infield single. But Albaladejo struck out Che-Hsuan Lin and Robbie Grossman, and got an inning-ending fly out from Jonathan Villar .

Zach Phillips and Chris Hatcher combined to keep the RedHawks off the board, completing the Zephyrs' sixth shutout of the year. Oklahoma City finished 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine baserunners .

Skipworth gave the Z's all the run support they needed in the second inning, lacing a two-run single with two outs to cash in leadoff singles by Joe Mahoney and Nick Green.

Mahoney drilled a solo homer in the sixth inning, his second of the season, and Skipworth added an RBI double an inning later to extend the Zephyrs' lead to 4-0.

Jake Buchanan (1-1) was the hard-luck loser for Oklahoma City . He allowed three runs and five hits in six innings with nine strikeouts and no walks.

The Zephyrs and RedHawks continue the four-game series on Saturday at 6 p.m.
