York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution enjoyed one of the biggest offensive nights in team history, clobbering the Bridgeport Bluefish 20-3 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Monday evening. It marked the third time in club history that the Revs scored 20 runs in a game, and the first time since 2010. The Revs have won three consecutive games and six of their last seven overall, and will look to extend the winning streak on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m.

The 20 runs scored tied the second most in team history, just one shy of matching the all-time mark. York's 22 hits were also a season-high and tied the fourth most in Revs history all-time.

The Revs scored multiple runs in an inning five times, including three innings of four or more runs. Every Revs starter scored and had a hit, while eight of the nine drove in runs. Scott Grimes drove in a Revs' season-high six, tied for the third most in club history, while matching the highest single-game total of his three-year Revs career.

Danny Gonzalez and Brandon Haveman each went 4-for-5 tying the Revs' season-high for hits in a game by a batter. Haveman extended his hitting streak to nine consecutive games while recording his 16th multi-hit game in 33 games with York. Gonzalez is now 9-for-15 on a four-game hitting streak.

Michael Hernandez gave York a first inning lead on a two-out RBI single to left, before the Revs would blow things open with a six-spot an inning later. Liu Rodriguez and Gonzalez got the ball rolling in the second on RBI doubles to right, and Grimes later doubled to deep center scoring two more. Andres Perez capped the outburst with a two-run homer to left, part of a four-RBI night.

Grimes and Ramon Castro each collected RBI singles in the third to make it 9-0 York. Scott then crushed a three-run homer to right-center in the fourth, and Grimes added an RBI groundout with the lead 13-2 at that point. Scott (2-for-5) is now 9-for-22 on his season-best six-game hitting streak.

The Revs posted another four-spot in the sixth on an RBI single up the middle from Grimes and a two-run single to center from Perez, with another run scoring in between on a dropped popup by Bridgeport shortstop Eddie Rogers.

Haveman pushed home another run with an infield hit in the seventh, while Grimes did likewise on a fielder's choice to pick up his sixth RBI of the contest. Haveman's bloop single with the bases loaded in the ninth provided the final tally, as the Revs reached the 20-run mark for the third time in their history.

Revs starter Chris Waters allowed three runs in four innings, as Bridgeport scored its runs on a two-run double to left by Luis Lopez in the third and a sacrifice fly by Kennard Jones in the fourth.

Four Revs relievers combined on five scoreless innings for the bullpen. Wade Korpi (1-0) worked two scoreless innings to earn the win, while Kris Regas, James Houser, and Dumas Garcia each chipped in with a frame as well.

The Revs (30-27) move to a season-best three games above the .500 mark, and remain within 5.0 games of Lancaster in the Freedom Division with 13 remaining in the season's first half, four of which will be played head-to-head in Lancaster this weekend.

Notes: Grimes' six-RBI game was the Revs' first since Eric Eymann drove in six in a 17-4 win against Bridgeport on June 26, 2011. Grimes' other six-RBI game with York also came in a 20-run performance, when the Revs defeated Lancaster 20-2 on June 19, 2010. York has won 11 of its last 16 road games, and is now 4-1 at Harbor Yard this season, outscoring Bridgeport 47-7 in the four wins. The Revs have now scored 65 runs over their last seven games (9.3 per game) while batting .376 as a team. York will look to match its season-high with a fourth straight win in Tuesday's game, with Omar Javier (0-5, 5.95) facing Gilbert De La Vara (3-4, 4.28). Revs fans can catch the action live on SportsRadio 1350 and Shoutcast.com (YorkRevs) beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Darrell Henry on the call.
