
Revs Announce 2013 Preseason Plans

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will open its 2013 training camp on Thursday, Jan. 17, at Gillette Stadium. The team's five-and-a-half week camp will includes two extended trips to Arizona, and six games against MLS teams.
After opening camp on Jan. 17, the team will train for four days in Foxborough before traveling to Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz., on Monday, Jan. 21. The Revs will spend 10 days at the training complex, and will face Sporting Kansas City on Friday, Jan. 25, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Tuesday, Jan. 29, in scrimmages at Grande Sports World.
The team will return to Foxborough on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and will spend nine days training locally before traveling to Tucson, Ariz., on Saturday, Feb. 9.
While in Tucson, the Revs will participate in the previously-announced Desert Diamond Cup, hosted by FC Tucson. The four-team tournament also features the New York Red Bulls, Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders FC. The round-robin group games will be played as doubleheaders on Wednesday, Feb. 13, Saturday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 20, before the championship - televised by NBC Sports Network - and consolation games are played on Saturday, Feb. 23. In 2012, the Revolution was the tournament's runner-up after falling in penalty kicks in the final against the LA Galaxy.
After returning to Boston on Sunday, Feb. 24, the team's focus will shift to regular-season for the 2013 MLS season, which will begin the following weekend.
