
Revolution's O'Brian Woodbine called up to Jamaica for World Cup Qualifiers

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Newly-signed New England Revolution defender O'Brian Woodbine has been called up to represent Jamaica during the country's upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Panama and Costa Rica.
Jamaica, which is currently ranked 76th in the world in the most recent FIFA rankings, will face 40th-ranked Panama on Friday, Sept. 6, in Panama City. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Reggae Boyz will host 42nd-ranked Costa Rica in Kingston.
Woodbine, who signed with the Revs on Aug. 29, will miss the team's match against Montreal on Sept. 8, and is expected to re-join the Revs at training on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Woodbine has 14 appearances for Jamaica. He has started at left back in each of Jamaica's last three FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, including his last appearance on June 12, 2013, in a 2-0 loss to Honduras.
