August 20, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) - Sacramento Republic FC News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC forward Thomas Enevoldsen has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week, the league announced today. Enevoldsen, who made his Republic FC debut on Saturday night after signing with the club last week, scored twice in the 4-0 win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC over the weekend.

Sacramento goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth, who also made his club debut on Saturday, was named to the Team of the Week Bench for his role in maintaining the clean sheet against Switchbacks FC.

Enevoldsen joins Republic FC midyear from Indy Eleven after finishing the 2018 season as the league's Golden Boot Runner-Up with 20 goals and 10 assists for Orange County SC. His performances earned him selection into the 2018 USL Championship All-League First Team and placed him as one of the USL Championship MVP finalists.

The Danish striker is the sixth Republic FC player to be named to the league's Team of the Week this season. Fellow forwards Cameron Iwasa and Stefano Bonomo, as well as midfielders Sam Werner and Jaime Villarreal and defender Juan Barahona, have also received the honors.

Republic FC travel to Arizona to take on Western Conference leaders Phoenix Rising FC on Friday, August 23. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
