Sacramento Republic FC News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC will be hosting twice the soccer action this week with two matches at Papa Murphy's Park on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Republic FC will host the California Storm women's soccer team as they face off against Primero de Mayo in their Pac North Conference Semi-Final at 5 p.m. That game will be followed by Republic FC's league match against Fresno FC at 8 p.m. Admission to both games is included with the purchase of a Republic FC ticket for Wednesday's game, which are available via Ticketmaster.com.

California Storm competes in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), which feeds players into the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The Sacramento-based team has helped produce leading women's soccer figures, such as current U.S. Women's National Team star Alex Morgan and two-time World-Cup winner Brandi Chastain. They currently feature forward Sydney Schultz, who is ranked second in the country with 14 goals in league play, as well Brazilian star Sissi, who was named the third-best women's soccer player to ever play the game by FIFA.

California Storm entered the conference tournament after clinching the top seed with a perfect 8-0 record and a season-high 37 goals scored, while conceding only four goals. The winner of Wednesday's semi-final match will advance to the Pac North Conference Championship on July 7th.

Republic FC continue their league campaign on Wednesday night against regional rivals Fresno FC. The game will be host to the club's annual Salute to Service Night, which honors the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces.
