
Phoenix Rising Duo Solomon Asante and Amadou Dia Named to USL Team of the Week

PHOENIX - Phoenix Rising teammates Solomon Asante and Amadou Dia were named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 17 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today.
The duo combined to score all four goals in Rising's 4-2 win over Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday night. Dia scored a stoppage-time stunner to provide the game-winning goal after recording the equalizing goal on a brilliant solo effort. Asante netted two penalty kick goals while recording four key passes and completing 35 of 42 passes. Asante now leads USL Championship in goals and assists.
This is the first time this season two Rising players have been on the team of the week. This is also the 12th week this season a Rising FC player has been recognized by the league and the sixth time Asante has received a league honor in 2019 (best on the team).
Phoenix Rising is off this week but returns to action on Saturday, July 13th, when the club travels to Rio Grande Valley. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 5:30 p.m.
