
Renz named MWL Offensive Player of the Week

August 14, 2006 - The Midwest League has named Kernels outfielder Jordan Renz as the Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending August 13.
Renz batted .429 (9-21) this week with 2 HR, 9 RBI, 5 runs scored and a slugging percentage of .714, which helped the Kernels to finish the week at 4-2 and still in the running for the MWL post season playoffs. Jordan's 22 HR for the season is tops in the MWL and his 78 RBI is good for third overall.
It is the second time that Renz has been named the Player of the Week. The first was for the week ending May 14th where he had 3 HR and 9 RBI while batting .345 (10-29).
Former Kernels outfielder Aaron Peel was named the Texas League Player of the Week. Peel is currently with double-A Arkansas and played for the Kernels in 2004 and 2005.
