Reno Collects Just Two Hits in Shutout Loss to Round Rock
July 19, 2023 - Pacific Coast League (PCL)
Reno Aces News Release
Round Rock, TX - The Reno Aces (8-9, 52-40) squandered at the plate in an 8-0 loss to the Round Rock Express (12-5, 56-35) Wednesday night at Dell Diamond.
Reno ambushed Round Rock in last night's series opener with five runs in the top of the first. They couldn't find the same juice tonight, mustering
only one hit through the first five innings. Yerry Rodríguez was on point for the Express, firing three scoreless frames with five strikeouts before handing the ball to an equally effective Cole Winn.
Jorge Barrosa doubled in the sixth as the lone Aces hitter to touch second base. For an offense that regularly posts crooked numbers, this was a
jarring performance. Reno surrendered three runs in the third and fourth as Rock Rock took complete control of game two. Reno scored zero runs for the first time since May 30th at Oklahoma City, a span of 39 games.
Reno entered the game with a paltry .765 team OPS in July, ranking 26th out of 30 Triple-A clubs and seventh in the PCL. It's been an unusually quiet
month as the Aces battle through the dog days of summer. Nabill Crismatt and Carlos Vargas were solid in relief with scoreless appearances.
The Aces and Express continue their series Thursday night at 5:05 p.m. PT at Dell Diamond.
Aces Notables:
- Nabill
Crismatt: 1.1 IP, 0 BB, 0 R/ER, 2 K
- Carlos
Vargas: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R/ER, 0 BB, K

Barrosa: 1-for-3, 2B
The Aces will return home next week for a six-game series with the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. First
pitch is 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25th.
