Today's Game: Socrates Brito and Ildemaro Vargas lead the Aces into battle tonight against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Brito is coming off the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week award (15 hits, 31 total bases, 1.993 OPS) and Vargas is riding a 16-game hit streak (29-for-75, 12 R, 3 2B, 3B, 2 HR). Jake Buchanan will take the mound and be opposed by RHP Trevor Oaks. Buchanan enters tonight with a 4-6 record an ERA of 4.84. Reno exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning yesterday, taking home an 8-6 victory over the 'Chasers.

Last Game: Game two between the Omaha Storm Chasers and Reno Aces went in the favor of the home team by the score of 8-6. The Aces put up huge numbers offensively and were led by Cesar Puello who went 3-for-5 with a run and one RBI. Bradin Hagens was the starting pitcher for the Aces and went 5.0 innings and allowed 3 runs on five hits. The win moved the Aces to a record of 33-37 on the season, 9.5 games back of first place Fresno.

POW for Brito: Reno Aces outfielder Socrates Brito has been named the Pacific Coast League's Player of the Week for the period of June 11-June 17, 2018, the League office announced Monday. Brito, 25, went 15-for-25 (.600) this week with 11 RBI, 10 runs scored and four home runs. The ninth-year professional opened the season on a Triple-A roster for the first time in his career. He played in 42 games for the Aces, in which he hit .323 (51-for-158), before getting recalled to Arizona on May 22. After an eight-game stint in the Majors, Brito got optioned, and in the 11 games with the Aces since, he has hit .457 (21-for-46) with five home runs, 15 RBI and a 1.393 OPS. In total, his .353 average (72-for-204) on the season ranks third in the PCL. Brito has spent parts of the last three seasons in Reno, hitting .308 (246-for-799) with 18 home runs and 119 RBI in that time. This is the first time in his career he has been selected as a Player of the Week.

Sweet 16: Ildemaro Vargas pushed his hit streak to 16 games yesterday with a single in the bottom of the first inning. He is 29-for-75 during the streak and has recorded 12 runs, 9 RBI and six extra-base hits. He has hit safely in 11 consecutive games at Greater Nevada Field (22-for-49) dating back to May 13th and holds the second longest road hit streak in the Pacific Coast League this season (4/10 through 7/8) with 18 games where he went 34-for-80.

Noble Three Hundred: Ildemaro Vargas is one hit away from 300 career hits as a member of the Aces. The Venezuela native enters tonight's contest with 299 knocks (77 in 2018). Vargas made his Triple-A debut in 2016 with Reno. In 49 games, Vargas went 70-for-198, .354). In 2017, his All-Star season, he went 152-for-487 (.312). Cole Gillespie (399), Mike Jacobs (343), Jack Reinheimer (321) and Mike Freeman (301) are the only players in Aces history with more.

Historic Cycle: On this day in 2012, D-backs' second baseman Aaron Hill became the fifth Arizona player to record the cycle. Just 11 days later, Hill accomplished the feat again, to become the first player in Diamondbacks history to accomplish this feat twice. Luis Gonzalez (7/5/00 @ Houston), Greg Colbrunn (9/18/02 @ San Diego), Stephen Drew (9/1/08 vs. St. Louis) and Kelly Johnson (7/23/10 vs. San Francisco) are the only others to have singled, doubled, tripled and homered in the same game. Hill played six games with Reno in 2013, going 9-for-24 with eight runs scored. Christian Walker is the last Aces player to hit for the cycle, doing so on May 14, 2017. Walker became the third Aces player to do so. Prior to Walker, Collin Cowgill was the most recent Biggest Little Ballplayer to hit for the cycle doing so in 2011.
