From the Notes

19 and Counting: Nick Martini extended his hitting streak to 19 games last night with a single in the second inning. He's hitting .395 (32-for-81) with 15 runs, 13 RBI, 6 doubles, 2 home runs and 9 walks during the streak that is the second-longest active streak in the Pacific Coast League. Martini's streak is tied for the 4th-longest (Adam Hyzdu - '10) by a Sounds player in the PCL era. Eugenio Velez (2013) and Darryl Brinkley (1998) are tied for the second-longest streak by a Sounds player when they hit safely in 22 straight games.

50 and Counting: Nick Martini extended his on-base streak to 50 games last night with a single in the second inning. He's hitting .350 (63-for-180) with 34 runs, 29 RBI, 11 doubles, 5 home runs and 37 walks during the streak that is the longest in Minor League Baseball. Martini surpassed Fresno's Tyler White who had a 45-game on-base streak from April 5-May 24. The 50-game streak is the longest by a Nashville Sounds player in the Pacific Coast League era.

Not Enough: Last night's 12 runs scored was the highest run total in defeat in 2018 for Nashville. The Sounds have scored at least six runs in each of their last four losses. Six runs is the second-most runs in defeat for the Sounds this season. The 17 runs allowed matched a season-high when Colorado Springs posted 17 against the Sounds on April 30. The four home runs yielded also matched a season-high which Oklahoma City belted on May 20.

All Rise: As expected, the offensive numbers for the Sounds have risen during their current road trip against Pacific Conference opponents. Entering tonight, Nashville has scored at least six runs on at least 10 hits in each of the five games on their current seven-game road trip. The team is 2-3 in those five games.

High Five: Nick Martini drove in a run in each of his last two at-bats last night and has now driven in a run in each of his last five games. The five-game streak is tied for the longest for a Sounds player this season along with Dustin Garneau who achieved the feat from May 10-18. Jorge Mateo has driven in a run in four straight games and can match the five-game streak with an RBI tonight.

Nine is Fine for Garcia: Outfielder Anthony Garcia has hit safely in nine straight games for Nashville. During his season-long hitting streak, he's hitting .406 (13-for-32) with 9 RBI, 9 runs, 3 home runs, 1 double and 6 walks.

What's the word around Nashville?

Oakland Athletics (@Athletics)

#Athletics recalled @JeffHemPBP from AAA-@nashvillesounds.. He will start 6/22. @vincebaseball (Oakland) will return 6/23.

Jeff Hem (@JeffHemPBP)

Thank you, @Athletics, for this opportunity. If I knew the words to fully express my excitement and appreciation, I'd use them. I can't wait to sit with @KenKorachRadio and borrow @vincebaseball's chair for a night.

#MemberOfTheWeek is Thomas Trotter. Thomas is the Head Groundskeeper @FirstTNPark, home of the @nashvillesounds and @NashvilleSC. #SportsTurf #TurfExpert
