Today's Game: The Aces head into Thursday's contest with record of 14-20 on the season and a split 1-1 record against the Isotopes. Right-hander Jake Buchanan will get the nod for Greg Gross tonight in game three of the four-game set. Buchanan went 5-0 last season and enters today's game with a record of 1-2. Kevin Cron has hit safely in each game against the Isotopes and comes in with a .250 average.

About Last Night: The Reno Aces celebrated the City of Reno's Biggest Little Birthday with a 6-3 victory in front of the largest home crowd of the season, 9,152. Reno recorded seven hits, two of which were of the home run variety. Both Cody Decker and Anthony Recker homered in the win. Anthony Vasquez turned in a great start, five innings, five hits, two earned runs and moved to a perfect 3-0 in 2018.

All-Time and Growing: Jimmie Sherfy recorded his seventh save of the season last night, striking out the side around a base hit. Sherfy has 39 career saves in an Aces uniform and is currently in second place for most saves in the Pacific Coast League. Last season, Sherfy went 20-for-23 in save opportunities to earn an All-Star appearance in Tacoma.

Bash Brothers: Cody Decker and Anthony Recker each homered last night to give Reno a 3-run victory. Decker has launched seven home runs this season and needs just five home runs to reach 200 in his career. Recker's dinger last night was the 142nd of his career.

Albuquerque vs. Alburquerque: As a member of the Salt Lake Bees, Al Alburquerque faced the Albuquerque Isotopes for the first time of his career on May 10, 2016 at Smith's Ballpark in Salt Lake City, Utah. Al Alburquerque

picked up the save that night with one inning pitched, one hit and one strikeout. Alburquerque faced Albuquerque three times that season, earning saves in each appearance.

SO vs. HR: In the age of the long-ball strikeouts have increased in the Pacific Coast League. Batters have struck out 4,473 times to date and have recorded 4,845 hits. Per game, teams are striking out 8.407 times compared to 6.663 times per game in 2009. However, home run numbers have remained consistent in the Pacific Coast League.
