The Lubbock Renegades had their two-game winning streak come to an end last weekend with a 60-42 loss to the Central Division leading Tulsa Talons, and now return home to continue division play with a tilt against the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. It is the third consecutive division game for the Renegades and they need a win to tie Oklahoma City for third place in the division standings. Oklahoma City comes in following a 59-55 road win over the Amarillo Dusters and they are 2-2 on the road, with four road games already under their belt. Lubbock is 2-1 at home this season and riding a two-game home winning streak.
RENEGADES RECAP
Tulsa, OK - The Tulsa Talons went on a 23-0 run to fly away with a 60-42 win over the Lubbock Renegades Saturday night at the Tulsa Convention Center. The win extends the Talons winning streak and season record to 6-0 and ends Lubbock's winning streak at two, leaving the Renegades with a 2-4 record.
Renegades quarterback Robert Kent connected with Jason Tezeno with a franchise best 44-yard pass for a touchdown with 6:35 remaining in the third quarter to take a 42-37 lead prior to the Talons run. Tulsa's Donovan Morgan caught a ten-yard touchdown pass from Josh Blankenship on the ensuing drive to give Tulsa a 44-42 lead to enter the fourth quarter. Lubbock's kickoff return team struggled most of the game, as they only had two drives start past their own six yard line. It forced Lubbock to produce long scoring drives most of the game and eventually wore down their offensive line. Kent was left scrambling most of the fourth quarter and the pressure led to an interception and a safety via a fumble through the back of the endzone, which aided the Talons scoring run.
Lubbock's defense was solid in the second quarter and stopped a couple of Talons drives, which let the Renegades get back into the game after falling behind 20-7 in the opening quarter. Lubbock's lone touchdown in the quarter was a 15-yard touchdown reception by John King, which was his first catch of the season. King would add another in the half to get the Lubbock comeback attempt going in the second quarter. Teams traded scores late in the half while fighting the clock as well. Morgan scored with 16.2 seconds remaining and then Lubbock answered with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Joey Hawkins with 1.9 seconds remaining for a 44-42 Tulsa lead at the half.
Tulsa's Jeff Hughley produced four touchdowns in the win for the Talons with a pair of rushing and a pair of receiving touchdowns. Lubbock produced a franchise best 296 yards of offense in the losing cause. Kent was 17 for 33 passing for 265 yards and 4 touchdowns. Lubbock had a pair of receivers with over 100 receiving yards, with Hawkins leading all receivers with 6 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown and Tezeno catching 5 passes for 101 yards and a score. Tulsa's Blankenship passed for 222 yards and 6 touchdowns while completing 17 of his 37 passing attempts. Tulsa never committed a turnover, while Lubbock gave away a pair of interceptions, a safety on a fumble and allowed an onside kick to be recovered by the Talons.

OKLAHOMA CITY'S LAST GAME RECAP
Amarillo 55, Oklahoma City 59
AMARILLO, TX - The Yard Dawgz began the first of a three week hiatus from the Ford Center when they traveled to Amarillo, Texas, on Saturday, May 12th to take on the Dusters (1-5). The game was a back-and-forth battle, but the visiting Yard Dawgz came out on top, 59-55.
Searching for their first conference win of the season, the Yard Dawgz seemed to be right on track when QB Stan Hill scored on a quarterback sneak. Hill was 23-of-32 passing with 244 yards and 4 TDs.
The 3,050 fans in attendance knew a good football game was brewing when the Dusters scored three times in the first, launching them to a 14 point lead over the Yard Dawgz. The Dawgz answered back when FB Darnell Small powered into the end zone to end the first quarter, bringing the Dawgz within 7.
Amarillo's only score in the second quarter was a 17 yd pass from Panella to Dustin Johnson. Small collected his second and final touchdown of the night when he scored on a 1 yard run with 4:54 left in the first half, bringing the Dawgz within 7 points. The Dawgz ended the second quarter with momentum on their side due to WR Al Hunt's first of three touchdowns. With this score, Hunt became one of only seven players in af2 history to reach 700 career points.
Adding to the unending drama was the Yard Dawgz special teams, who continued to be a problem despite the recent assignment of former Texas Tech Red Raider kicker, Keith Toogood. Toogood missed several PATs during the contest and continued to give the Dusters excellent field position. Fortunately for the Yard Dawgz, the Jon Holland led defense came up with stops at crucial times, which kept the game within reach for the visitors.
In the third, rookie Larry Hayden helped the Yard Dawgz take their first lead of the night when he picked off QB Steve Panella for a 39 yard touchdown run. Panella was awarded as the Schutt Offensive Player of the Game and went 20-of-32 with 1 interception and 3 rushing touchdowns.
The back-and-forth battle continued in the fourth quarter as the Yard Dawgz and Dusters traded scores. The Dawgz received their biggest break of the night when Toogood's kickoff, with 32 seconds left on the game clock, landed the Dusters deep in their own territory. Yard Dawgz defenders continued to impress as they held the Dusters scoreless, ending the game 59-55, Yard Dawgz.
