Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are teaming up with WUSV US 92.5 FM Wide Open Country to help raise money for the people who help protect residents in Southwest Florida. Firefighters, First Responders and the Red Cross will be at local area fire stations all this week along with US 92.5 and the Florida Firecats to help restore emergency funds and supplies that have been running low due to the numerous brush fires this month.

To donate people are urged to stop by the following locations from 8am to noon:

WEDNESDAY - Estero Fire & Rescue 21500 Three Oaks Parkway, in Estero

THURSDAY - Bonita Springs Fire Dept. 27701 Bonita Grand Drive, in Bonita Springs

FRIDAY - San Carlos Park Fire Dept. 199591 Ben Hill Griffin Pkwy, in Fort Myers

Firecats players will be on hand to autograph photos for the kids and people who make donations will be eligible to receive prizes donated by the Firecats, Ft. Myers Miracle and the Laugh in Comedy Café.

"With all that has been going on with the fires we were looking for a way for the community to give back and say thank you to all the people who work so hard and give so much to the community," said Robin Wolf from US 92.5.

All donations will stay here locally in Southwest Florida and be presented to the Red Cross during halftime of the Firecats game this weekend during their annual "Hero's Nite"

"We jumped at the chance to become involved," said Firecats President and General Manager Chris Vallozzi. "We welcome the opportunity to help pay back the people who do so much for all of us. Those guys are the true hero's, they do it day in and day out without much fanfare and we're happy to take the time to recognize them and to say thank you."

The Florida Firecats host the Mahoning Valley Thunder at home this Saturday May 19th. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm EST. Tickets are on sale now. Call the Firecats box office at 390-CATS (2287). Fans can listen to the game online at www.FloridaFirecats.com, www.NBC-2.com & www.ABC-7.com.
