Wilmington, Del. - The Hudson Valley Renegades dropped their series opener to the Wilmington Blue Rocks 6-3 on Tuesday night at Frawley Stadium.

The Blue Rocks scored all six runs in the first three innings against Justin Lange. After two walks and a fielder's choice began the first inning, Will Frizzell laced a double to right-center to score Viandel Pena and Yohandy Morales and give Wilmington a 2-0 lead.

Lange (1-1) responded with a scoreless second before Wilmington plated four runs on four hits in the third. After Andrew Pinckney and Morales led off with back-to-back singles, Frizzell flew out to left field for the first out. Murphy Stehly then singled home Pinckney to make it 3-0 Blue Rocks. Daylen Lile tripled home a pair and Matt Suggs hit a sacrifice fly to score the final three runs of the inning and pad their advantage to 6-0 over Hudson Valley.

The Renegades plated the game's next three runs, beginning with a two-run fourth. Jared Serna singled and advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches. Jesus Rodriguez walked and during Antonio Gomez's at-bat attempted a steal of second. On the throw to second base, Serna broke for the plate and stole home to score the 'Gades first run. Ben Cowles later singled home Rodriguez to cut the deficit to 6-2. With the hit, Cowles extended his franchise-record on-base streak to 39 games.

In the top of the fifth, Rafael Flores belted a solo home run to left off MLB rehabber Thaddeus Ward to cut the deficit to 6-3. It was the seventh home run of the year for Flores, and his second in as many games.

After Lange worked the first three frames, Cole Ayers followed and struck out five in 2.1 scoreless innings. After Mason Vinyard punched out three in 1.2 scoreless frames, Shane Gray worked a scoreless eighth.
