Reinke's Big Day Nets Overtime Win

SAN ANTONIO, TX - Mitch Reinke scored two power play goals on Sunday afternoon to help the San Antonio Rampage (26-6-6) hold off a Milwaukee Admirals (24-23-12) comeback, as the Rampage skated to a 5-4 overtime win in front of 7,540 fans at the AT&T Center.

Reinke's power play goal in overtime capped a three-point night in which he set a new single-season franchise record with 37 points, the most ever by a Rampage rookie defenseman. Keith Yandle previously held the record with 34 points in 69 games during the 2006-07 season.

The Admirals forced overtime with three goals in the third period to erase a 4-1 deficit, but Jordan Kyrou drew a hooking penalty on Adam Helewka 22 seconds into overtime to give the Rampage their seventh man-advantage of the game.

With the 4-on-3 advantage in overtime, Reinke beat Admirals goaltender Troy Grosenick over the right shoulder with a wrist shot from the high slot for his eighth goal of the season, and his first professional overtime-winner, at 33 seconds of the extra session.

The victory snapped a four-game winless skid for the Rampage, and also extended their points streak on home ice to 16 consecutive games. The Rampage are 14-0-2 at the AT&T Center since Dec. 8.

The Admirals battled for a point in the standings with three third-period goals. At 5:28 of the third period Yakov Trenin collected the rebound of a Scott Savage shot off the end boards and beat Rampage goaltender Ville Husso for his 12th goal of the season, making it 4-2.

With Jordan Schmaltz in the penalty box, Colin Blackwell netted a power play one-timer from the left circle for his eighth of the year at 14:05. Just 46 seconds later, Frederic Allard found a rebound and beat Husso for his fourth goal to tie the game.

Husso made one final breakaway stop on Laurent Dauphin in the closing seconds to force overtime.

Jordan Nolan opened the scoring with his 15th of the year at 10:13 of the first, tapping in a Reinke feed just as a Rampage power play expired. The assist was Reinke's record-breaking 35th point.

Jarred Tinordi tied the game 1-1 with his sixth of the season, a left-point shot past Husso with 58 seconds left in the first period. Kyrou answered back with 15 seconds left in the period with a wrist shot off the post and in for his 15th of the year to reestablish a one-goal Rampage lead.

In the second period, Tanner Kaspick made it 3-1 with his third goal of the season off a feed from behind the net by Joey LaLeggia at 6:07. At 14:48, Reinke scored on a wrist shot from the left circle on a 5-on-3 advantage to give the Rampage a 4-1 lead.

Reinke and Kyrou each had three-point games. Husso earned his first victory since Dec. 22, his last start at the AT&T Center prior to a lower-body injury that had him miss two months.

The Rampage scored multiple power play goals for the fifth time in six contests, going 11-for-32 over that span.

The Rampage continue their homestand on Tuesday morning with a 10:45 a.m. puck-drop against the Chicago Wolves for 'Cool School Day' at the AT&T Center. The game is available on the Ticket 760AM and on AHLTV.
