GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Jorge Sequea led the Syracuse SkyChiefs Monday night, powering a three-run homer off Tribe starter Jeff Farnsworth in the second inning, as Syracuse defeated Indianapolis, 6-1.

Glenn Williams hit his 19th homer of the season, a solo blast off Tribe reliever Todd Erdos in the eighth inning to provide additional support for winning pitcher Cameron Reimers (1-0).

Matt Erickson doubled off Reimers and scored the lone run for the Indians in the third inning. Chris Coste and Steve Scarborough each had two hits for Indianapolis. Reimers pitched seven innings for Syracuse, allowing one run on five hits, walked one and struck out three.

Farnsworth (2-4) was tagged with the loss, pitching six innings, allowing four runs (three earned runs) on seven hits, walked two and struck out four.

Indianapolis falls to 39-43 and is 2-3 on the year against Syracuse. The SkyChiefs are 35-50. Syracuse out hit the Tribe 10 to six, both teams committed an error.

"I was excited to come back," said Reimers, who was recently promoted from Double-A New Haven. "I just wanted to keep us in the game tonight. I felt like I had good stuff. I didn't have any butterflies and just got into a good rhythm. I just want to keep my routine going and work hard."

NOTES:

Jeff Liefer has gone hitless in 18 at bats since returning to the Tribe from Milwaukee on June 30.

Peter Bergeron's seven game hitting streak ended Monday night.

Mark Johnson has returned to the club after a week's absence. Johnson returned home to Warner Robbins, Ga. in time for the arrival of his first born child, son Will, checking in at nine pounds and six ounces.

Chris Magruder appeared in Sunday's Brewers-Pirates game and picked up a pinch-hit single.

Indians pitching entered tonight's game with a 3.22 ERA over the past 10 games.
