Ontario, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (12-12-2-1, 27 points) took down the Bakersfield Condors (16-7-2-0, 34 points) 2-1 at Citizen's Business Bank Arena Wednesday night. It was the first regulation loss for the Condors in over a month, Nov. 14. Tonight's game opened up a three-game road trip for Bakersfield.

Ontario did all the damage they needed in the opening period. C Jon Francisco took a feed from RW Mike Howe and slammed home a one-timer to make it 1-0 less than five minutes into the contest. They added a second tally at 13:45 with LW Chris Curran notching his first of the season to give the home team a 2-0 advantage.

Neither club got on the board in the middle frame, with only 13 combined shots finding the two netminders. G Timo Pielmeier was getting his eighth straight start for Bakersfield, while G Curtis Darling went for Ontario. Shots were 20-14 in favor of the visitors through 40 minutes.

Defense took over from there, as nearly 11 minutes passed in the final period before either team had a shot on goal. Meanwhile Bakersfield held Ontario to just three third period shots, and 17 in the game. With the goaltender pulled for an extra attacker, the Condors finally touched up Darling, with LW Ryan Donally netting his first of the season with just 33 seconds left in the game. Bakersfield mounted a furious attack in the final seconds, but couldn't tie it up.

NOTES FROM THE NEST: The Condors regulation unbeaten streak ended with the loss. They had earned at least a point in ten straight games (8-0-2)... LW Ryan Donally was activated from 21-IR today and made his Bakersfield debut tonight... The Condors lead in the Pacific Division is now seven points over 2nd place Ontario... Three stars: 1st - Andrew Martens (ONT); 2nd - Curtis Darling (ONT); 3rd - Chris Curran (ONT).
