December 17, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that they have traded Jarrett Konkle and future considerations to the Elmira Jackals in exchange for Chanse Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick, 25, is in his sixth professional season and fifth in the ECHL. Through 23 games this season Fitzpatrick held the Jackals' team lead with 13 goals, which also ranked ninth in the league, and was third on the team with 23 points. In the last two games between the Chiefs and Jackals Fitzpatrick notched the winning score for Elmira. He scored the game winner at 3:03 of overtime on October 24 and scored the shootout winning goal on December 11.

The right wing out of Cornwall, Prince Edward Island had a record setting night two seasons ago as a member of the Dayton Bombers. On November 3, 2007 against Trenton, Fitzpatrick scored each of the Bombers' five goals in the third period en route to Dayton's 5-1 win. He became the second player in the history of the ECHL to score five goals in a period, and the first to ever score four power play goals in a period. For his ECHL career, Fitzpatrick has 137 points (69G, 68A) in 178 games.

Konkle returns to Elmira where he played four seasons of college hockey for Elmira College (NCAA-III) and 81 games over two seasons with the UHL Elmira Jackals. He had 14 points (3G, 11A) in 17 games for the Chiefs this season.

Mark your calendars! The Chiefs are back on home ice on Friday, December 18 against the expansion Toledo Walleye. The Chiefs will be hosting a benefit drive to benefit the Brent's Band-Aids charity. Each box of cartoon band-aids that is donated to Brent's Band-Aids will be worth one free child's ticket to that night's game. There is no limit to this offer! Good seats still remain and can be purchased in advance by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-TICKETMASTER.
