
Reign FC Announces 2014 Team Awards

SEATTLE (August 29, 2014) - Seattle Reign FC announced today the club's 2014 team awards with Kim Little earning both the Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player award and Kendall Fletcher receiving Defender of the Year honors, as voted by coaches, players, staff and media.
Little - who also claimed the NWSL Golden Boot and league MVP - led the league with 16 goals in 23 games while also recording seven assists, which was tied for second in the NWSL - one behind teammate Jess Fishlock.
Fletcher joined Reign FC as a free agent prior to the start of the 2013 season. She played in 23 matches this season; starting 22 and logging two goals and one assist in 1917 minutes.
Seattle finished the regular season atop the league standings - setting a new league record for total wins and locking down the NWSL Shield after defeating the Houston Dash 4-1 on Wednesday, July 30 - and with a total of 54 points, the squad also set a new record for most points scored in a single season, passing last seasons record by 16 points.
Seattle Reign FC will return to action against FC Kansas City in the 2014 NWSL Championship Game on Sunday, August 31 at 12 p.m. (PT) at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Wash.
