
Flash Midfielder Carli Lloyd Named to NWSL Second XI

ELMA, N.Y. (Friday, August 29, 2014) - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today the Best XI selections for the 2014 NWSL Season with Western New York Flash midfielder Carli Lloyd earning NWSL Second XI accolades for the second-consecutive season.
Lloyd, 32, finished second on the Flash in total points, tallying 21 during the 2014 season. The Delran, NJ native scored eight goals on the year, good for second best on the team, and added five assists.
The U.S. Women's National Team midfielder led the Flash in both shots and shots on goal with 61 and 33, respectively, and also had the game-winning goal in the Flash's June 27th 2-1 win over Boston. After a recording a brace in that game, Lloyd was named the NWSL's Week 12 Player of the Week.
Lloyd started in 19 games for Western New York this season, seeing all 1,710 minutes of action.
