Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), open the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs tonight with Game 1 against the San Jose Barracuda at 7:30 PT at SAP Center.

Round 1 Schedule:

Game 1: Friday, April 22 at SAP Center in San Jose, CA at 7:30 p.m.

Game 2: Saturday, April 23 at SAP Center in San Jose, CA at 7:30 p.m.

Game 3: Thursday, April 28 at Citizens Business Bank Arena at 7:00 p.m. Buy Tickets

Regular-Season Rivals:

In the regular-season, the Reign battled the Barracuda 12 times, earning a 9-3-0-0 head-to-head record. At SAP Center, the Reign went 3-3-0-0.

Series at a Glance:

Reign forward Sean Backman leads all skaters in the regular-season series with 11 points (four goals, 11 assists) and Reign forward Michael Mersch led all skaters with five goals. Forward Bryan Lerg led the Barracuda in the series with eight points (three goals, five assists).

Goaltending Duel:

Reign goaltender Peter Budaj led the AHL in the regular season with a 1.75 goals-against average and .932 save percentage. Barracuda goalie Aaron Dell placed eighth with a 2.42 goals-against average and fourth with a .922 save percentage.

Reign forward Kris Newbury wrapped up the regular season on a six-game point streak (three goals, five assists).
