Reichenbach Dazzles as Admirals Skip Past Swamp Rabbits 3-1

GREENVILLE, SC - Ty Reichenbach made 30 saves on 31 shots while Darik Angeli added a goal and an assist to lead the Norfolk Admirals past the Greenville Swamp Rabbits Wednesday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. With the win, Norfolk improves to (11-7-0-1, 23 pts) on the year and maintains sole possession of second place in the south division. Dylan Vander Esch tallied the lone goal for Greenville.

There was no scoring in the first period as Norfolk and Greenville both had 13 shots a piece.

The Admirals got on the board first with a goal from Luke Nogard. Darik Angeli gathered the puck in the left circle, after a cross-ice pass from Connor Hurley. Angeli found Smereck at the left point on a pass. Smereck shot the puck which was redirected by Nogard on the way to the net and beat goaltender Chris Nell to give Norfolk the 1-0 lead at 3:29 of the second period.

Greenville tied the game early in the third on a goal from Dylan Vander Esch. Vander Esch found the puck along the right wall and skated into the left circle. Vander Esch shot the puck from in the left circle and beat Reichenbach on the glove side to even the score at 1 at 2:58 of the period.

Norfolk would regain the lead with a goal from Darik Angeli. The Admirals gained the puck at the red line after a Greenville turnover. Darik Angeli skated into the Greenville zone and into the high slot. While falling, Angeli shot the puck which ricocheted off Nell's skate and found the back of the net to give Norfolk a 2-1 lead at 5:23 of the third period.

Norfolk received an empty net goal from John Gustafsson to seal the contest. Dominic Alberga and Taylor Cammarata added assists on Gustafsson's empty net goal. With the goal, Gustafsson has scored in three straight games. Additionally, Dominic Alberga extends his points streak to six games with an assist on Gustafsson's goal.

Ty Reichenbach made 30 saves on 31 shots, while Chris Nell takes the setback for Greenville while making 38 saves on 40 shots.
