Regan Reassigned to Providence

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins have reassigned goaltender Kevin Regan to Providence from the Alaska Aces of the ECHL. With the move, the P-Bruins have 22 players on their roster, including 12 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.
Regan, 24, returns to Providence after going 2-2-0 with a 2.47 goals-against-average and .924 save percentage in four starts for Alaska since being reassigned to Anchorage on February 2. The rookie goalie won his last two games over the Victoria Salmon Kings. In two ECHL stints, Regan has posted a 3-3-0 record with a 2.48 GAA between Alaska and the Gwinnett Gladiators. For Providence this season, Regan is 8-5-1 with a 3.00 GAA and a .893 save percentage in 17 games. He has won his last two AHL starts, allowing one goal in each victory, and he is unbeaten in regulation over his last five appearances on the road, going 2-0-1.
Prior to turning pro, the South Boston native played four years for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, finishing as the school's all-time leader in wins (70), saves (3,235) and save percentage (.928). Regan also became the only goalie in school history to post back-to-back 20-win seasons, doing so in his final two years. His 2007-08 honors included a unanimous selection as the Hockey East Player of the Year, a finalist nod for the Hobey Baker Award as the nation's top collegiate player, First Team All-American honors, a First Team All-Hockey East selection and the Walter Brown Award as the top American-born player in New England.
Regan was drafted by Boston 277th overall in round nine of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
