Rockford IceHogs News Release
Milwaukee, Wis.- The Bradley Center has not been kind to visitors this season. The Rockford IceHogs, however, found success there in 2008-09 as they knocked off the Milwaukee Admirals 4-1 behind a hat trick performance by Tim Brent on Thursday night.
Rockford completed its season series in Milwaukee with a 3-2-0-0. The two clubs still have three more meetings at the Rockford MetroCentre remaining on the regular season slate.
Brent put Rockford on the board first in the opening frame with his team-leading third short handed goal of the season. Mike Brennan hit Brent in the neutral zone with a break-out pass and Brent beat Drew MacIntyre for his 16th goal of the season at 3:45.
Milwaukee got the equalizer late in the first period on another power play. Hugh Jessiman picked up a rebound off of a Cody Franson shot and beat Corey Crawford for his 14th goal of the season at 18:44.
Rockford's power play came to life in the second period as they tallied twice to take a 3-1 lead. Petri Kontiola blasted home his 13th goal of the season, beating MacIntyre through traffic at 9:32. Brent and Jack Skille assisted the goal.
Brent later added his second marker of the night, and second straight three-point game when he deflected in a Pascal Pelletier centering pass in transition on another power play at 14:27. Kontiola chipped in an assist as well.
In the third period Brent finished off his hat trick when he picked off a MacIntyre turnover and knocked in his 18th goal of the season at:12:57 unassisted.
Rockford outshot Milwaukee 34-20 and the IceHogs finished the night 2-7 on the power play while holds the Ads to 1-8.
