Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA- William "The Refrigerator" Perry's scheduled appearance at tonight's Altoona Curve home game at Blair County Ballpark has been cancelled due to illness. Perry has a medical condition which made him unable to travel to Altoona as scheduled.
"We were informed earlier today that William Perry became ill and because of a necessary doctor visit was unable to make his scheduled trip and subsequent ballpark appearance tonight," said Curve General Manager Todd Parnell. "We apologize to those fans who were anticipating his appearance, but unfortunately the circumstances that led to him not being able to travel here were beyond our control."
Tonight's 6:35 p.m. game against the Reading Phillies is still scheduled and fans in attendance will still be able to enjoy a fun-filled night of great promotions at Blair County Ballpark. The Curve's planned Refrigerator Giveaway will still be held, making one lucky fan the winner of a brand-new refrigerator courtesy of Park Appliance, Furniture and Flooring. In addition, the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive Curve Schedule Magnets presented by AIG. Also, Curve fans will be able to feast all night long on $1 Hot Dogs and Half-Price Curve Burgers as part of "Food Frenzy Night" presented by Atlantic Broadband. Following the game, all kids can run the bases thanks to Thomas Chevrolet of Bedford. Ballpark gates open at 5 p.m. for the general public and 4:50 for Curve Season Ticket Holders.
Great seats remain the final six games of the Curve's season-opening seven-game homestand at Blair County Ballpark and can be purchased by visiting the Curve Ticket Office at Blair County Ballpark starting each morning at 9 a.m., by calling (877) 99-CURVE or by logging on to AltoonaCurve.com.
