Today's Game: The RedHawks continue their eight-game road trip and open a four-game series against Omaha at 7:05 p.m. at Werner Park. Oklahoma City leads the season series, 2-0.
Last Game: The Albuquerque Isotopes set a season high with eight extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs by Matt Angle, in a 10-2 win against Oklahoma City Tuesday at Isotopes Park. Angle hit solo home runs in the second and seventh innings. The Isotopes also notched five doubles and two triples. Albuquerque led 3-0 before Brandon Laird's RBI double in the fifth gave OKC its first run. After a RedHawks error led to another Isotopes score, Cody Clark's RBI single in the sixth cut the Isotopes lead to 4-2. Albuquerque then broke open the game with a five-run bottom of the sixth. OKC outhit Albuquerque, 11-9, in the game, but left 12 runners on base. Isotopes relief pitcher Anthony Ortega (3-3) allowed one run and two hits in 1.1 innings for the win. RedHawks starter Philip Humber (0-1) allowed four runs (two earned) and five hits in 4.2 innings. He struck out two and walked one in the loss.
Today's Probable Pitcher: Asher Wojciechowski will try and replicate his recent success against the Storm Chasers...On Thursday in Oklahoma City, Wojciechowski held the Storm Chasers to one run and three hits over six strong innings to earn his second win with the RedHawks. The only run scored on a Xavier Nady home run and he did not allow a hit with a runner on base. He stuck out four and walked two...Since getting promoted to the RedHawks in early May, Wojciechowski has flourished at home, but struggled on the road. He has posted a 1.59 ERA in four home starts, allowing three runs on 14 hits in 21.2 innings. In two starts away from OKC, he's allowed 13 runs on 17 hits in 10.1 innings...Wojciechowski began this season with Double-A Corpus Christi, going 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA before his promotion. Between the two levels he's holding opponents to a .136 average with runners in scoring position.

The teams played a weather-shortened two-game series in Oklahoma City last week. The RedHawks won both games by a combined score of 13-3 and clinched a winning home series against Omaha for the first time since June 26-29, 2010. Omaha went 8-for-61 (.131) at the plate...During the 2012 season series, Omaha averaged 6.9 runs per game...The RedHawks lead the all-time series with the Storm Chasers, 112-98, but Omaha entered 2013 having won four of the last five season series against Oklahoma City and three of four series in 2012...During their previous trip to Omaha (July 16-19, 2012), the RedHawks became just the second team ever to sweep the Storm Chasers at Werner Park. They RedHawks were swept in the other road series (May 4-7, 2012) ...Their next series is June 22-25 in OKC and will have a total of six games, including doubleheaders on the 23rd and 25th.
Wallace, Oberholtzer Named Players of the Month: Earlier today the Houston Astros Player Development Staff selected Brett Wallace and Brett Oberholtzer as the RedHawks May Player and Pitcher of the Month, respectively. Wallace led the team in all three main offensive categories (.324 AVG, 6 HR, 26 RBI) and also led the squad with a .403 on-base percentage. Over five starts, Oberholtzer went 2-2 with a 2.42 ERA and held opponents to a .198 batting average. He struck out 27 batters with nine walks over 26.0 IP.
Wates and See: RedHawks outfielder Austin Wates has been placed on the Disabled List, retroactive to June 2. He has not played since being hit with a pitch on his left wrist on May 24 in Iowa.
Wally World: Brett Wallace is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, during which he has hit .414 (12x29). Despite not joining the team until April 21, he is tied for the team lead in home runs (8) and doubles (11) and is just one RBI shy of the team lead (30).
Singles Club: The RedHawks racked up 25 hits and batted .338 over the last two games in Albuquerque, but collected just two extra-base hits, both doubles. Although the team is sixth in the PCL in batting average (.276), they rank 13th in extra-base hits (156).
Walk This Way: The RedHawks walked five times Tuesday and have drawn at least five walks in 10 of their last 14 games. They've recorded a total of 74 walks during the 14-game stretch and are tied for third in the league with 239 walks this season. Marc Krauss leads the team with 36 walks, which is tied fifth in the PCL. Krauss (36 BB/36 K) and Che-Hsuan Lin (32 BB/25 K) and have each walked at least as many times as they've struck out, while Jake Elmore (24 BB/25 K) has struck out just once more.
Valiant Villar: Jonathan Villar is 6-for-12 during the current road trip. He was hitting just .180 on the road prior to the Albuquerque series. Villar is also tied with Reno's Tony Campana for the league lead in stolen bases with 17.
Perez Dispensing Hits: Carlos Perez has put up back-to-back three-hit games and is now eight for his last 13 with three doubles and four RBI. The hot streak has immediately followed a personal 0-for-12 stretch.
In the Job Description: In 13 games as the team's designated hitter, Fernando Martinez is batting .306 with two home runs and 13 RBI. When Martinez plays in the field, he is hitting just .122 (5x41).
RISPy Business: The RedHawks have won five of their last seven games. In the wins, they are hitting .333 with runners in scoring position (17x51). In the losses, it drops down to .176 (3x17). Win or lose, opponents are hitting just .157 with runners in scoring position over the last nine games (11x70).
Opening Acts: The RedHawks are 6-9 this season in series openers, including 3-5 on the road.
