RedHawks Rebound against Boulders, 4-1

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks used small ball to prevail over the Rockland Boulders, 4-1, in front of 4,068 fans at Newman Outdoor Field on Tuesday night.

After allowing a run to score in the top of the third, RedHawks' Todd Jennings capitalized on a Boulders throwing error off a wild pitch to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Nic Jackson eventually singled to score the go-ahead run in third for the RedHawks to give them a 2-1 lead.

Fargo-Moorhead (52-30) plated two more insurance runs in the fifth and seventh, as C.J. Retherford had a big night at the plate, bygoing 2-for-3 with two of the teams' four RBIs.

Jackson returned to the lineup in Tuesday's game after sitting out Monday and went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Zach Penprase picked up two hits and scored three runs. Penprase also stole a base in the seventh to pick up his 250th career stolen base.

Danny Bomback and Carlos Rivera both had two hits for the Rockland Boulders (41-39). Rivera had the Boulders' only RBI of the game with a single in the third to score Jerod Edmondson.

Taylor Stanton earned his eighth win of the season after going six innings. He gave up one run on six hits with seven strikeouts. Joe Harris came out of the bullpen to pitch two scoreless innings followed by Nathan Kilcrease, who pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save of the season.

Charlie Law (2-2) started for Rockland and went six innings giving up three runs on nine hits. Alex Kreis and Marcos Frias each worked one inning out of the bullpen, giving up one run on no hits collectively.

The RedHawks have won nine of their last 11 games and lead the Winnipeg Goldeyes by 7 =C21/2 games in the North Division.
