TODAY: The RedHawks and New Orleans Zephyrs make up for Monday's rainout with a pair of 7-inning games at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark starting at 5:05 pm CDT. OKC gave up a 6-2 lead in the late innings yesterday to see the Zephyrs tie the score with 2 in the seventh and 2 more in the eighth to force extras. Jarrod Saltalamacchia led off the 10th with a homer to improve OKC's record to 2-5 in extra-inning games and 10-9 in one-run decisions with a 7-6 win. The RedHawks lead the series 1-0 and the season series 5-4. Doug Mathis and Michael Ballard will start today's games against the Zephyrs' Sean West and Adalberto Mendez.

STRIKING FIRST: The RedHawks scored 2 more runs in the first inning yesterday to continue a trend of scoring early in games. The RedHawks have tallied 15 first-inning runs in the past 7 games and only once in that span (Friday vs. Albuquerque) have they not scored at least once in the first. For the season, the RedHawks have out-scored the opposition in the first 41-26.

MORELAND PLEASE: Mitch Moreland has a 5-game RBI streak this homestand, during which he has driven in 11 runs. Yesterday, he recorded the RedHawks' fifth 4-RBI game of the season. He also collected his first homer since May 2 with a 2-run shot in the first inning off Tom Mastny. In 9 games against the Zephyrs, Moreland is 16-for-35 (.457) with 2 homers, 6 doubles and 8 RBIs.

SALTY VS. NEW ORLEANS: Jarrod Saltalamacchia capped yesterday with a game-winning, leadoff homer in the 10th inning. Saltalamacchia is tied for second on the team with 7 homers and 4 have been against New Orleans, including each of the last 3.

LEADERS: Brandon Boggs is fourth in the league in walks with 38. He's ninth in on-base percentage at .407 and has reached base in 20 straight games. Esteban German is fifth in walks with 37, second in stolen bases (24) and third in runs (46). OKC is second in the PCL in walks as a team with 260, trailing only Reno's 263.

DAVIS IN JUNE: Chris Davis had a 10-game hitting streak snapped on Saturday, but has hit safely in 12 of 13 games this month. Davis 21-for-48 (.438) with 2 homers and 10 RBIs in June. He's fourth in the league in batting average this month behind Fresno's Tyler Graham (.476), Las Vegas' Jorge Padilla (.458) and Colorado Springs' Matt Miller (.448). For the season, Davis is seventh in the PCL in hitting at .333.

PITCHING STILL TOPS IN PCL: OKC leads the PCL in team ERA at 3.49. Iowa is second at 3.57. The RedHawks have allowed the fewest home runs in the league (32), 13 fewer than the closest team, Fresno. OKC has allowed the fewest runs (254) and earned runs (219), and is third in strikeouts (475) behind Albuquerque (481) and league-leader Sacramento (494).

BULLPEN UPDATE: In the past 27 games, OKC's bullpen has worked 108.2 innings, allowing 26 earned runs (a 2.15 ERA) on 74 hits while going 8-2.

HOME RUN HAPPENINGS: OKC has 56 homers, sixth in the PCL. The RedHawks have 29 homers at The Brick. The 2009 club. which had the fewest homers (77) in Triple-A, hit 29 at home all season. Yesterday's walk-off shot was the RedHawks' second of the year (and month) following Esteban German's 3-run blast against Memphis June 3. OKC had 1 walk-off homer each of the previous 3 season. Fourteen homers this season have tied the score or given OKC the lead in the fifth inning or later. The 2009 RedHawks had 7 such homers all of last season. When the RedHawks hit a home run, they are 24-11. When homerless, they're 11-17.
