TODAY: The Oklahoma City RedHawks wrap up the 2009 season with an afternoon finale at Memphis against the American North Division champions. Memphis has won the first 4 games of this series and will meet Albuquerque on Wednesday at Isotopes Park in the first of a best-of-5 playoff series. OKC will try to snap a season-high 10-game road losing streak with righthander Bryan Corey on the mound. Memphis is slated to start righty Oneli Perez, his first career appearance against the RedHawks. Memphis leads the season series 9-6.

2009 DISTINCTIONS: Regardless of today's result, this year's RedHawks will sport the lowest win percentage in the 12 seasons the team has been known as the RedHawks and played at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. A win would make the RedHawks 69-75, a .479 win percentage. A loss would drop the record to 68-76, a .472. The previous low record was 69-74 (.483) in 2000. This year's highest point above .500 was 5 games, most recently at 63-58 after sweeping Salt Lake Aug. 17. The low point below .500 was 9 games under at 21-30 following a loss June 2. OKC was in sole possession of first place 6 days during the season, always a half-game up when alone in first, the last time after a doubleheader split April 27. The RedHawks' farthest point back of first place is the 11-game margin entering today's season finale.

ROAD STRUGGLES: The RedHawks have lost 10 straight road games, adding to an already season-high losing streak away from home. The last OKC road win was a 10-4 decision Aug. 24 at Omaha. Since then, the RedHawks dropped the Omaha finale, a 5-game series in Iowa and the first 4 in Memphis. The RedHawks and Portland Beavers share the league's lowest road win total, 27. This year's road record will finish ahead of only the 2000 club, which went 24-47. OKC actually finished with a better home record this year than it did in 2008 when it reached the PCL finals. Last year's club was 40-32 at home, but this year's was 41-31. The 2008 Hawks were 36-36 on the road, this year's team enters today's game 27-44.

A YEAR OF FEWER HOMERS: The RedHawks will wrap up 2009 with the fewest home runs hit and allowed in the PCL. OKC has hit 76 home runs, through Sunday the fewest in either affiliated Triple-A league. The International League's Norfolk Tides enter today with 77 home runs. RedHawks pitching has allowed 91, 13 fewer than Omaha.

BIG LEAGUE SHUTTLE: Of the 56 players to wear a RedHawks uniform in 2009 (not counting major league rehabbers), 19 spent time on the rosters of both Texas and OKC. Eighteen played for both teams, while Max Ramirez was recalled in May but did not play. The roster featured players as young as Neftali Feliz, who was 20 when the season began, and as old as Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, officially 39 years old. Fifteen players debuted at this level, 7 position players and 8 pitchers. A 16th, Greg Golson, debuted at Triple-A after playing in the major leagues last season.

MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS: OKC's winningest month was June, when it went 17-11. The RedHawks's top offensive month was July, when it hit 20 home runs and batted .283 while going 16-12. The RedHawks also hit 20 home runs in August. The RedHawks' best ERA was in April, when the team was 9-10 with a 3.54.

GOOD IN THE CLOSE ONES: OKC leads the league in one-run wins with a 26-16 record. Sacramento has a 25-13 mark in one-run decisions. The RedHawks are 13-4 in extra-inning games, behind only Sacramento's 15-4 record. OKC is a league-best 14-4 in games tied after 8 innings.

DEFENSIVELY SPEAKING: The RedHawks enter today's game with 107 errors, sharing the fewest miscues with Omaha, Sacramento and Albuquerque. Those 4 teams also share the league's highest fielding percentage at .980. Joaquin Arias has the league's best fielding percentage among shortstops at .979.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SEPT. 22: The newly-named Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game will have its fourth edition Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 6:05 pm CDT at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The annual meeting of the playoff champions from the International and Pacific Coast Leagues It will be broadcast live again this season on ESPN2 and Westwood One radio.
