Coming into tonight's game, the RedHawks have lost 2 straight, 5 out of 6, 6 of their last 8 and are a season-low 5 games below .500. OKC has dipped to last place in the 4-team American South Division, 1.5 games back of the division lead. It's the first time since a loss on April 15 the RedHawks have been more than a half-game back of the top spot in the division. Round Rock is third in the American South, 1 game back of division-leader Albuquerque. OKC righthander Doug Mathis gets the start against lefty Josh Muecke.

MILTON DABBLES IN PERFECTION: Albuquerque Isotopes lefthander Eric Milton retired the first 15 RedHawks he faced last night and combined with Henry Bonilla on a 2-hit shutout in the Isotopes' 7-0 win at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Milton (3-2), the former major league veteran coming back from 2007 Tommy John surgery, allowed his first baserunner when German Duran reached on an infield hit to shortstop to open the sixth inning. Kevin Richardson followed with a single to produce both OKC hits. The RedHawks sent 28 batters to the plate in the entire game in being blanked for the third time this season. Albuquerque pinned a loss on Tommy Hunter (0-1) in his 2009 RedHawks debut. Hunter allowed 6 runs (3 earned) in 5 innings. The Isotopes collected 14 hits and built a 6-0 lead through 4 innings. OKC lost 2 out of 3 to Albuquerque and have not won a series this year, having lost 4 and split 3.
BOGGS' STREAK ENDS: RedHawks outfielder Brandon Boggs saw his team-best 7-game hitting streak end with an 0-for-3 last night. It was just the second time all season Boggs has failed to reach base in a game. He has now reached in 21 of 23 games played. Boggs' team-leading 20 walks ties him for second in the league with the recently-promoted Josh Whitesell. Omaha's Kila Ka'aihue leads the PCL with 26 walks.
MOVES: OKC has had 14 player transactions in the month of May and 33 on the season through last night's game. Prior to yesterday's game, Texas transferred outfielder Ben Harrison to Double-A Frisco and signed Nate Gold as a free agent. Gold was a RedHawk the previous 2 seasons.
POWER OUTAGE: OKC has gone 11 games without hitting a home run. The RedHawks' last homer was a 3-run shot by German Duran on April 23 against Omaha at The Brick...OKC's 10 homers are the fewest in the league...RedHawks pitching had allowed just 6 home runs prior to the just-concluded homestand, but gave up 9 in the 7 games on the stand. The RedHawks have allowed the second-fewest homers in the league (15) behind Memphis' 9.
STATION TO STATION: The RedHawks played a rain-shortened, 3-game series against Albuquerque without an extra-base hit. Their last extra-base hit was a double by Esteban German in Monday's sixth inning against New Orleans.
YOUNG CLUB: The RedHawks boast a team whose oldest starting pitcher is 26 (Elizardo Ramirez) and a pitching staff with only 2 players 30 or older (Brian Gordon, 30 and Bryan Corey, 35). The only OKC position players over 30 are Royce Huffman, 32, and Esteban German, 31. Seven different RedHawks have made their debuts above Double-A already this season: Neftali Feliz, John Bannister, Julio Borbon, Thomas Diamond, Derek Holland, Pedro Strop and Jose Vallejo. Another player, the recently promoted Greg Golson, made his Triple-A debut this year after seeing time with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008. All of last season, 18 RedHawks made their Triple-A debuts.
