TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox are the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Last season, the Sky Sox finished last in the Pacific North with a record of 66-77.

VS. COLORADO SPRINGS:

The RedHawks won three of four games last season at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs. The Hawks hit .315 with five home runs in the series. RedHawk pitchers had a 3.41 ERA and allowed only two home runs.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 58 of the season. It's the final game of a four-game series and the fourth of four meetings between Oklahoma and Colorado Springs this season.

LAST GAME:

RedHawks won their third straight with a 5-4 win in 11 innings yesterday. Desi Relaford brought home the winning run with a walk-off double in the 11th. Starter John Koronka went six innings and allowed one run on five hits. The RedHawks used four pitchers in the game. Randy Williams pitched the final 2.1 innings for the win.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Jamey Wright

makes his second major league rehab start for the RedHawks. Wright lost his last start Thursday against Salt Lake, allowing three runs (one earned) in 4.2 innings of work. The Sky Sox will send Jorge De Paula to the hill.

STARTERS LOOKING GOOD:

The RedHawks have received some good starting pitching during this homestand. In the seven games at The Brick, the starters are 2-1 with five quality starts and a 1.59 ERA in 39.2 innings pitched. For the season, the starters are 15-21 with a 5.22 ERA.

GOLDRUSH: Nate Gold

is the PCL's Offenisve Player of the Week after hitting .407 (11-27) with two doubles, four homers and 14 RBIs in seven games. On Sunday, Gold had a big day going 5-for-5 with two doubles, two homers, seven RBIs and five runs scored. Gold lacked just a triple for the cylce. He became the first RedHawk to have a multi-homer game since Adam Hyzdu did it Aug. 12 of last season. The seven RBIs are the most in a game for a RedHawk since Adrian Gonzalez did it 6/22/04 at Albuquerque. The five hits and five runs are the most for a RedHawk in a game this season. Over the last seven games, Gold is hitting .467 (14-30) with four homers and 16 RBIs.

HOT BOTTS:

Botts continues to swing a hot bat after going 1-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored yesterday. Botts is hitting .372 with 28 RBIs over his last 33 games. For the season, Botts is hitting .299 with four home runs and a 42 RBIs. Botts is fourth in the PCL with 42 RBIs and tied for first with 20 doubles.

STREAKING: Freddy Guzman

brings a personal season-high eight-game hitting streak into tonight's game after going 1-for-5 yesterday. Guzman is hitting .424 (14-33) with a homer and three RBIs. Gold and Botts each bring seven-game streaks into tonight. Kevin Mahar has a five-game streak after going 4-for-5 with a double yesterday.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

. The RedHawks have now won seven straight against Sky Sox in Oklahoma dating back to '05...the RedHawks will try for their first series sweep tonight. They're 0-3 this season when trying for a sweep...the Hawks are 2-12 in the final game of a series overall this season...the RedHawks set a new season-high with 15 men left on the bases, and tied a season-high by drawing nine walks...yesterday's game was the longest of the season for the RedHawks in both innings (11) and gametime (4:10)...the Hawks improved to 2-2 in extra inning games...Botts has played in every game this season.
