Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, CA - They say all good things must come to an end, and the Fresno Grizzlies' six-game winning streak finally came to an end Monday night with a 7-4 loss to Albuquerque.

Albuquerque's Brett Carroll hit two home runs off of Grizzlies' starter Travis Blackley in consecutive innings, including a two-run bomb that landed in Fulton Mall outside of Chukchansi Park. The Isotopes also received a long ball from Val Pascucci, his 17th of the year.

Blackley finished the night unable to make it through five innings after allowing seven runs, accompanied by five free passes via the walk. In three of his last four starts, Blackley had pitched seven innings, all of which resulted in wins.

The loss also ends an eight-game winning streak for the Grizzlies (31-28) at Chukchansi Park, a streak that dated back to May 19 in a win over Salt Lake. For Albuquerque (28-30), the win ends their five-game losing streak, with the last two losses coming at the hands of the Grizzlies.

Despite scoring four runs in the game, the Grizzlies could never get a consistent offensive attack underway, as they hit into five double plays in the game, including a 5-4-3 double play to end the game.

The Grizzlies still have a chance to secure their seventh series win of the season with a victory tomorrow against the Isotopes. Wednesday will be the first off day of the month for the Grizzlies before they make their way to Las Vegas for a four-game series with the 51s.

The final game of the series and homestand against the Isotopes will be a Tecate Taco Tuesday (presented by Tecate and 95.7 The Fox). Tacos will be sold for $2 all game long while 16 oz. Tecate beers will be sold for $2 until 7:35 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Chukchansi Park ticket office, over the phone at 559-320-TIXS, or online at www.fresnogrizzlies.com.
