
Raley Field to Host "Under the Lights" Boxing Series

West Sacramento, Calif. - Raley Field will host "Under the Lights at Raley Field," a two-event boxing series beginning on Friday, August 10, officials announced today. The second fight night is scheduled for Saturday, October 6th. Each fight will feature an appearance by a celebrity VIP, with former heavyweight champion and all-time great 'Smokin' Joe Frazier appearing at the August 10th fight-night and world renowned Hall of Fame trainer Lou Duva appearing at the October 6th fight-night. Jeff Connor, ring announcer from television's "The Contender," will serve as Ring Announcer for both fight-nights.
Raley Field has teamed up with promoter Patrick Ortiz of Ringside Ticket to put on the events. Ortiz and his company are responsible for securing the fight cards for both events.
"We are thrilled to bring outdoor boxing back to Sacramento and Raley Field is the perfect venue to continue this classic tradition," said River Cats Executive Vice President Bob Hemond. "We hope to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the great outdoor fights of previous eras. The Sacramento community has been extraordinarily supportive of these events and we look forward to these events being extremely successful."
Ticket prices for each fight-night start at $45, with both events available in a 2-fight package starting at just $75. VIP Ringside seats for each fight-night are available for $125 (VIP Ringside seating for both fight-nights is available for $215). VIP Ringside seats include not only the best seats in the house, but special meet-and-greets with celebrity VIPs (Frazier and Duva) and exclusive access to the VIP Ringside Bar, Lounge & cigar bar as well.
Mel Rapton Honda and Mercedes Benz of Sacramento have signed on as title presenting sponsors of both events.
