
Redhawks Fall to Albuquerque, 8-6

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Corey Smith finished four-for-four with three RBI leading the Albuquerque Isotopes (7-4) from a 3-0 deficit for an 8-6 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks in front of 2,890 Monday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.
Albuquerque reliever Jon Link (1-0) took the winning decision, dealing two hitless frames. Oklahoma City starter Jordan Lyles (0-2) was tagged with the loss, after allowing six earned runs and eight hits over six innings. Lyles allowed only one hit with 25 pitches over the first three innings of the start. Isotopes reliever Roman Colon (2) saved the game with a scoreless ninth.
Oklahoma City built an early 3-0 lead in support of Jordan Lyles, beginning with a two-run first. Carlos Corporan singled in a run before a Drew Locke sacrifice fly opened a 2-0 lead. The RedHawks added a third run in the third inning when Anderson Hernandez singled in Brian Bogusevic with two out.
Lyles was cruising through three innings until a two-out rally in the Albuquerque fourth. Trent Oeltjen singled, Corey Smith doubled and Jamie Hoffmann belted a home run inside the left field foul pole, tying the score 3-3. Albuquerque opened a lead in the fifth inning when Randy Keisler, serving as a pinch-hitter, doubled home Trayvon Robinson for a 4-3 Isotopes lead. Later in the inning Corey Smith doubled in two more runs, opening a 6-3 lead.
Albuquerque added two seventh inning runs with the help of two Oklahoma City errors. Anderson Hernandez's error in the seventh brought in Dee Gordon for a 7-3 game while Smith next singled home a run for an 8-3 Albuquerque lead.
Carlos Corporan hit a two-out solo home run in the seventh inning before Anderson Hernandez belted a two-run home run later in the frame for an 8-6 score.
