RedHawks All-Stars Announced

FARGO, N.D. - Eight members of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have been voted to the Great Plains team for the 2009 Northern League All-Star Game, which will be played on Tuesday, July 6 at Silver Cross Field in Joliet, IL.
RedHawks selected as All-Stars are: RHP Garry Bakker; LHP Broc Coffman; LF Mike Coles; RHP Nick Fellman; CF Nic Jackson; SS Zach Penprase; RF Jeremiah Piepkorn and 1B Randall Simon. All have indicated that they will participate in the festivities next week.
In addition, 3B Yurendell DeCaster was selected to the team but will not participate after having his contract purchased by the New York Yankees earlier today. DeCaster was the top vote-getter in the Northern League.
The 2009 statistics for the RedHawks All-Stars, as well as the complete Great Plains All-Star team, appear below. The Great Lakes All-Star Team, comprised of players from the Gary SouthShore RailCats, Joliet JackHammers and Schaumburg Flyers will be announced tomorrow.
