Red Wings Recall Zadina, Assign Sateri

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings have recalled forward Filip Zadina from the Grand Rapids Griffins and assigned goaltender Harri Sateri to the Griffins.

??Zadina, 19, ranks fourth on Grand Rapids in scoring with 31 points (15-16-31) while adding 14 penalty minutes in 45 games during his first full professional season. Selected sixth overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by Detroit, Zadina is the highest Red Wings draft pick to ever play for the Griffins. He picked up an assist in Grand Rapids' 4-3 shootout victory over Texas last night to extend his season-high point streak to seven games (4-5-9). Among first-year AHL players, the 6-foot, 190-pound winger ties for seventh in goals.

Should he debut with Detroit, Zadina will become the 176th Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL.

During the 2017-18 season, his first in North America, Zadina skated in 57 games with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and collected a team-high 44 goals among 82 points, which was second on the club. He earned spots on both the QMJHL First All-Star Team and the All-Rookie Team after leading all league rookies in scoring and tying for seventh overall. Zadina was also selected as the Mike Bossy Trophy winner as the league's best professional prospect. He tied for the team lead in postseason scoring, showing 12 points (5-7-12) in nine appearances.

A native of Pardubice, Czech Republic, he has represented his country on multiple occasions, including the last two World Junior Championships. He combined for nine points (7-2-9) in 12 games during the two tournaments and was named to the 2018 WJC All-Star Team.

Sateri, 29, served as a backup during Detroit's 3-2 loss against Minnesota last night at Little Caesars Arena.

??In nine career NHL appearances, which all came last season with Florida, Sateri is 4-4-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a 0.911 save percentage.

??The 6-foot-1, 205-pound netminder has recorded an 18-9-3 record, a 2.79 GAA and a 0.902 save percentage in 30 appearances with the Griffins this season. In his last 10 starts, he shows a 7-2-1 record to go along with a 1.88 GAA and a 0.933 save percentage. His AHL career-high tying 18 victories also tie for sixth on the circuit.

??Originally drafted in the fourth round, 106th overall, by San Jose in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Sateri has played in 188 career AHL games since 2010 between Worcester (2010-14), Springfield (2017-18) and Grand Rapids, and has totaled an 80-86-6 record, a 2.78 GAA, a 0.906 save percentage and eight shutouts.
