GAME NOTES:

-TURNING POINT: Red Wings starter Andrew Albers was cruising until a two-out, two-run, opposite field home run from Bisons catcher Josh Thole in the 4th inning that put the Bisons in front 2-1... KEY MOMENT: The Bisons scored 3 times of Tim Wood in the top of the 9th inning to build a 4-run cushion that would prove important as the Wings scored a run and left the bases loaded in the bottom of the inning... Rochester went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.

-The Wings and Bisons split the 4-game series with Buffalo now leading the season series 5-3... These 2 teams won't hook up again until a one-game "series" July 3 at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo.

-Joe Benson extended his hitting streak to a Red Wings season-high 7 games with a 2-out single in the bottom of the 2nd inning... Over the streak, Benson is hitting .346 (9-for-26) with 2 doubles, 2 triples, a home run, 7 runs scored and 2 RBI.

-Clete Thomas extended his hitting streak to a season-high 5 games with a solo home run in the 1st inning. He finished 3-for-5 with a double, 2 RBI and a tied for season-high 7 total bases (4/7 vs. BUF)... Thomas' 4th home run of the season was the Red Wings' 21st of the year... Last April, the Wings hit just 10 home runs.

-The odd trend of pitching well in losses continued for Andrew Albers on Tuesday... The Wings are now 2-3 in starts made by Albers this season. In the 3 games the Wings have lost, Albers has only allowed 3 earned runs in 15.2 innings. In the Wings 2 wins, Albers has allowed 8 runs in 8 innings.

-For a second time this season (4/5 @ BUF) the Red Wings pitching staff didn't walk a batter... Over the last 7 games, Wings pitchers have only handed out 11 free passes (1.57 BB/G)... Over the first 19 games of the season, Rochester walked 72 batters (3.79 BB/G).
