
Red Claws Exploit Erie Defensive Lapses to Extend Home Streak to Five

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws (8-7) upped their record to over the .500 mark for the first time this season, downing the visiting Erie BayHawks (9-6), 120-107. Maine went 14-26 from the three point line, sinking fourteen for the second consecutive game and picking up their fifth win in six games.
Both teams entered this game with aggressiveness, hustle, and good communication. Maine's shooting display was once again a consistent throughout the game.
Red Claws forward Eugene Spates earned player of the game honors, picking up a season-high 21 in 24:39 played off the bench. High scorers for Maine included DeShawn Sims with 21, Tiny Gallon with 19, Jamar Smith contributed 17.
The BayHawks' high scorers were guard Christian Eyenga with 20, guard Dawan Robinson with 19 and 20 for forward Kyle Spain.
The Red Claws will head to Indiana tomorrow to take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Saturday and Sunday. Erie heads to Massachusetts for a pair against the Springfield Armor Friday and Sunday.

West has spent each of the past three seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, earning a call-up last season in January and remaining with the Hawks for the remainder of the season.
