The BlueClaws scored a 4-3 comeback win over Kannapolis on Saturday.
--- LAKEWOOD, NJ - Cord Sandberg hit a walk-off SAC fly in the bottom of the ninth to give the BlueClaws a 4-3 comeback win over Kannapolis on Saturday.
The BlueClaws trailed 3-0 before tying the game in the eighth. Mickey Moniak led off the ninth with a single and after a walk and SAC bunt, Sandberg's SAC fly off Ben Wright (0-2) won the game. It was Lakewood's second walk-off win of the season.
The win puts the BlueClaws at 11-11 on the year while Kannapolis falls to 12-12.
Will Hibbs (4-0) earned his fourth win with two scoreless innings in relief.
Kannapolis scored three times in the first inning. With two outs and none on, they got four straight hits, with a two-run double by Micker Adolfo and an RBI double by Zach Remillard to give the Intimidators a 3-0 lead.
Neither team scored again until the bottom of the seventh, when the BlueClaws got three straight hits to start the inning off Yosmer Solarzano. After hits by Henri Lartigue and Mickey Moniak, Darick Hall doubled to left-center on an 0-2 pitch to make it a 3-2 game. Hall, however, was stranded at third.
Solarzano came out after Hall's double and gave up two runs over six innings-plus.
The BlueClaws tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. Daniel Brito doubled, stole third, and scored on a wild pitch to level the score at three.
Lakewood starter Nick Fanti, who gave up three runs in the first, did not allow another run, and his final line was three runs in six innings with six strikeouts against one walk.
The series with Kannapolis wraps up on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 pm. RHP Sixto Sanchez (0-2) starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Alec Hansen (1-1).
