Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - West Virginia downed the Rome Braves Sunday afternoon 8-2 at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,642.
Three run third and fourth innings gave West Virginia all the ammunition they would need. The third saw Ty Moore double home a run and Hunter Owen triple home two runs for the 3-0 score. The Braves made it a 3-1 game in the bottom of the inning on Lucas Herbert's (2) solo shot to center. In the fourth, Kevin Mahala added an RBI single, a wild pitch scored a run, and Moore got his second RBI of the afternoon on a run scoring single giving West Virginia a 6-1 lead. Rome scored their second run of day in the fifth on Anfernee Seymour's run scoring single for the 6-2 score but that's as close as they would get as the Power went on to get the victory 8-2.
Luis Escobar (3-1) earns the victory for the Power and Rome's Jeremy Walker (0-2) gets the loss.
