Real Salt Lake to Host Season Opener Festivities on Saturday

SANDY, Utah (Wednesday, March 5, 2014) - Real Salt Lake has announced that it will host a day of season kickoff festivities and a watch party for the Claret-and-Cobalt's 2014 MLS regular season opener this Saturday. Real Salt Lake kicks off its 10th season against LA Galaxy at StubHub Center on Saturday, March 8 at 8:30 p.m. MT. Saturday's match will be broadcast live on ABC 4 and ESPN 700 AM.

Real Salt Lake will host a wide range of activities for fans, families and friends throughout the day on Saturday. RSL will kick things off with a family soccer scrimmage and kick around at Mount Jordan Middle School in Sandy, Utah from 1-3:00 p.m. MT. The event is free and open to all ages and abilities.

Real Salt Lake will then host a grass bocce tournament through the Utah Bocce Association at the Gallivan Center starting at 4:00 p.m. MT. Entering a team in the tournament costs $10 and a team can be made up of 2-4 players and is open to all ages and families. The cash pot will be rewarded to the winning team. The official Real Salt Lake watch party will be held at Bourbon House starting at 5:00 p.m. MT. All events at Bourbon House are for those 21 years of age or older. Activities at Bourbon House ahead of the match include a shuffleboard tournament (with prizes), an Xbox FIFA 2014 tournament and a screening of "Wild in the Streets," a soccer documentary. Real Salt Lake v. LA Galaxy will then kick off at 8:30 p.m. MT.
