
Rapids Launch New Primary Kit as Part of MLS Jersey Week

As part of Major League Soccer's second annual Jersey Week, the Colorado Rapids have officially launched their new primary kit. The new burgundy jersey features the embossed Colorado "C" across the chest, as well as the return of the sky blue color to the uniform.
For fans, the first chance to see the new kit in person will be on March 19 at the annual "ËCheers to the Rapids' kickoff party on Wednesday, March 19 from 5-8 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Denver, with all players and coaching staff.
A special World Cup Question and Answer session will also take place, featuring special guest Dan Flynn, the CEO and Secretary General of U.S. Soccer, as well as Rapids legends and former U.S. National Team stars Marcelo Balboa and Pablo Mastroeni.
The Rapids will keep the blue secondary kit used in 2013 through this season as well, wearing it in the team's opening match on March 15 at the New York Red Bulls. Colorado will wear the new primary kit for the first time in the Home Opener on March 22, against the Portland Timbers.
The primary jersey will have a contrast (white) sleeve look, and is highlighted by vertical adidas 3-Stripes fading from sky blue to traditional burgundy on the jersey and shorts. Colorado's state flag appears on the front jock tag with '5280' on the back neck, symbolizing the Mile High city.
