
Reading offense leads way as they set season-highs

For the first time since 2012 the Fightin Phils (25-20) registered at least 20 hits in a game as they recorded 21 hits and scored a season high 12 runs as they defeated the Fisher Cats (22-24) 12-10 on Wednesday night.
The Fightin Phils continued their offensive onslaught of the Fisher Cats for a second straight night as Tony Thomas hit a three-run home run off John Anderson in the top of the second inning to take a 3-0 lead. Brodie Greene and Gabriel Lino scored on the play. New Hampshire answered back in the bottom of the second inning with four runs off Zach Eflin to take a 4-3 lead.
Reading tied the game at 4-4 off Anderson in the top of the third inning as Lino hit a RBI double to score Cameron Perkins. The Fisher Cats re-took the lead in the bottom of the third inning off Eflin as they scored three runs to take a 7-4 lead. The Fightin Phils tied the game at 7-7 off Anderson in the top of the fourth inning as KC Serna hit a RBI single and Cameron Perkins hit a two-run single.
Anderson left the game after three-plus innings as he allowed seven runs (six earned) off 11 hits with three walks for the Fisher Cats. Eflin gave up a run in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Fisher Cats would take an 8-7 lead. Eflin left after three-plus innings as he allowed eight runs off 12 hits with one walk and one strikeout.
The Fightin Phils scored three runs off reliever Dustin Antolin (1-1) in the top of the fifth inning to take a 11-8 lead as KC Serna hit his second RBI single of the night and Brock Stassi hit a two-run single. New Hampshire scored two runs off reliever Adam Loewen in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut Reading's lead to 11-10 as Dwight Smith Jr. scored on an error by Cameron Perkins and Jack Murphy hit a sacrifice fly.
Nefi Ogando (1-1) entered the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. He pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Stephen Shackleford entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. He pitched two shutout innings for his eighth save on the season.
The Fightin Phils will wrap up their series and road-trip with the Fisher Cats on Thursday night. First pitch is at 7:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 6:35 pm.
