Razorsharks Move Into First Place After Pair of Wins

(Rochester, N.Y.)Å The Rochester RazorSharks jumped into first place in the American Basketball Association's Connie Hawkins Division after winning both games last week. The RazorSharks (7-2) defeated the NE Penn Breakers 107-86 last Thursday night in Scranton, PA and beat the Maryland Nighthawks 126-96 before 2,993 fans at The Blue Cross Arena. Keith Friel had 25 points including five three-pointers and Demond Stewart scored 24 points.

The Strong Island Sound (4-7) travel to Rochester this Saturday, December 17 for a 7:35 p.m. tip-off at The Blue Cross Arena. Rochester will look to avenge one of their two home losses as the Sound beat the RazorSharks 123-112 on November 16 at the BCA. Rochester returned the favor with a 94-83 road win on November 26. The Sound are led by former Chicago Bulls point guard Charles Jones and John Strickland. The game will be re-broadast in its entirety on a tape-delayed basis at 10:00 p.m. on WHTK AM-1280.

All kids 12 years-old and under can purchase a general admission ticket for $5.00 and will be given a special gift from Santa Claus before the game. The RazorSharks meet the Harlem Strong Dogs (3-7) for a Sunday afternoon matinee on Sunday, December 18 before returning home to host NE Penn on Wednesday, December 21 at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
