Reigning Knights Suspend Operations
December 12, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Reigning Knights of Georgia News Release
The Reigning Knights of Georgia, members of the American Basketball Association, have announced that they have voluntarily suspended operations for the 2005-06 ABA season and will plan for a return to the court for the 2006-07 ABA season.
The team thanks its loyal fans for their support during their inaugural season and the preparations for season two. However, due to a loss of sponsorships and a saturated Atlanta sports market, the decision was made to take a season off, build a solid base with fans, media and the business community, and return to competition in 2006.
Please watch the team's Web site, http://www.rkoghoops.com/, for updates and announcements on the team's progress towards a return to the court.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
